Reliving old loves with a key board -- I am so grateful for voice to text and keyboards right now, as holding a pen is an impossibility -- your writing is always fun to read.
How come you can write about virtually anything and make magic.. tisn't fair! This is such a moving poem, (No, not intended as pun, 'not that clever, me) but to dream the phrases, '.. as the keys slammed against the sheets of white.. .. like estranged lovers finding solace in each other's warmth -- -- again'
Your mind sees, ticks.. flows.. and whatever happens you use language as if you'd invented it!!!

Like the imagery - made me think that life is the vehicle we ride and as we age it is some times a bit tricky to have get started or have a smooth ride - thanks Jacob

Yes, I do remember my trusty ole electric, back in the day! Remember how novel it was to have correction tape? Forget about cutting & pasting to move whole sentences around. We had to have our thoughts much more organized before committing to hard copy! *smile* I like the way your poem morphs from the mechanics to the feelings -- nice touch & very relatable (for some of us old farts!) Thanks for sharing!

Jacob. These line invoke an image as deftly as any film director. I can picture the scene perfectly, see a shadowy black and white figure hunched over a typewriter and tapping industriously away, (though of course this is more than about just a typewriter.)
Ah, the sound of a typewriter...a selectric....nothing quite like it and I think I found inspiration in the sound of the keys. They encouraged me to write just one more line before climbing under the covers. The memories.....wonderful. Wish I still had mine. Loved this. Lydi**

Hello prof. This is a brilliant. Full of adoration to those times. I never used a typewriter but always felt them hypnotic. You narrated something so simple, and exquisitely important, beautifully. Glad to read yours after a long time.
Can't say I ever used a typewriter, just about getting hang of the one fingered slam onto my android.Imagined a scene from a black and white movie with the luckless author tapoing out another not to be read novel.Loved this Jacob.
