Cinderella's Eccentric NightlifeA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
splayed
legs, she's given herself
again, foolish knave spreading
her freedom
but the soiled
reputation fills the cracks of what
some call justice others call necessary
casualties of the night
when did America prostitute
Lady Liberty for pocket change, then leave her stranded
on an island
with a burned out torch, and sore bare feet because she left her
glass slippers
somewhere she wasn't
supposed to be.
