Academic Seeds and Street-wise CrowsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoAcademic Seeds and Street-wise Crows
the
cafe is emptying plastic coffee cups
milling with the birds who perch on the
"for sale" sign
minds crackling, unused
chirps of gold dust imagination---------------------------------------------- vacant shafts of light
the morning cries a building stands
deserted of the knowledge it once
held
a moribund tune denies
the wind of change but the song eventually
gives in
there was a rush to
judgment and now only a lonely
dollar bill adjusts its tie, by a
curb
where teachers used to
park.
