visions of still life

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

visions of still life

your eyes were just a little too tawny
a darkness within the tender cornea of exuberance
delightful dancing, the retinas retaining confidence

even as you questioned everything about yourself
and your blonde wisps of wisdom expressed
the deepest knowledge of spirit

i found myself staring into the space of you
and became part of the collective intuition
which i have held onto all these years

your voice in varicose perception
draws lines in my memory
but i am still peering into iris dawns

each morning i imagine
you are looking over your shoulder
from wherever you are.

"your voice in varicose perception" ..powerful conjuring sir! .. my oldest daughter took Tae Kwon Do when she was about 6 or 7 yrs old for about six months ..then quite because she thought it was stupid ;) so i let her ... it was her choice .. anyway ... years later ..and i mean like 15 yrs later we were at an arts in the park to listen to the school band play .. her old Tae Kwon Do school was also in the park doing demonstrations and i said lets go say hi to Mr. Hoover ... we walked over to him and he instantly knew my name and said hello then leaning over a bit looked deeply into my daughters eyes and said "Rachel?" .. i was amazed ... he said thats how he remembers people ..its in their eyes :)
once gazed into we don't soon forget those eyes of love do we?!

:) .................
The eyes are the window to the soul. Once you gaze in them your heart is forever lost. And than... the memories and your mind playing tricks of what it once was or could be again...

A moving piece.
