jacob, a politics metaphor used to illustrate the desire to be able to get together with one that you are in love with...brilliant! Love and politics may make strange bedfellows but the way you use words to see love in an unusual way is so nicely done. Another home run! take care...dan

thank you for your words, dan.

never ever heard nor thought of such a thing in politics ... i take it three ways .. one a seat next to the constituency that sent the person there ..the other of course mostly scandalous ... nefarious and at best poor judgement at worst abuse of power ... then the very rare gem of a true love thing ;) your having quite a time with the senryu aren't you ... another top notch job ..inspires some thought challenges me to be very careful with the vote .. :)

Although love and politics rarely mix, you have gotten them together with your words....and done so splendidly! Liked this one! Lydi**

No founding father like characters among them. I feel doomed by our own process.

I think the ego of even considering becoming a politician should bar them from ever doing so. To be honest, I don't even know who is in what party. All I know is that trump is a moron who is even trying to bully Scotland into giving him his own way. He is slightly annoyed at us for giving permission for offshore wind farms which will spoil the scenery of his exclusive and all male golf course. Of course, he forgot we were Scottish and decided after his rant to raise the amount of farms ten fold, all the way round his stupid course. Never trust a man who wears animals on his head I all I can say.
This concludes my party political broadcast :)

Ha! They never sit in our seats or walk in our shoes, but they stay close by with their hands in our pockets! I'm thinking perhaps for most politicians a "politician's heart," just might qualify for an oxymoron. This entire circus perplexes me to no end. I'm a bleeding heart liberal, a social democrat and proud of it, and yet, as Nietzchshe put it, "The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently." I am watching this happen right before my eyes.
I am filled with so many thoughts from your poem. What have we become? What do we stand for? Who are these people really that we call politicians? Your poem is great, as always.

well Jacob, if you have a politicans heart you cannot sit near me, sorry, but I hav emy standards.. lol.. but if you are a regular Joe, and need a seat, there is plenty of room... no snarky double talk out the a*s keep america number one bs is spoken here.. just how can we get the hell out of the mess they have delivered to us!!??? we also do not play 3 card monty...
sorry Jacob, your poems always provoke me to say lots of things and think lots of things too... and now I have said way more than your poem intended...
