demure roses in an olive garden

demure roses in an olive garden

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

demure roses in an olive garden

foxes invite hounds for cocktails

wagging tongues lounge on martini pads

sipping scents in brothel logic

and then all run rampant across a field of imagination

as eyelids close

and ravished dreams

occupy predators' beds

in midnight confession.

I have never understood the bar scene mentality, not knocking it of course, to each it's own, i'm just not into crowds and one night stands...but we've all been there, waking up with something stranger than you went to bed with..egads!

Ok I must have missed this one today when I went on reading rounds. This is fresh, as in very different from how you represent your work both in tone and imagery. I am not sure if I am hinting at the right thing but it does seem about a wild night of one night stands after having one drink too many and heartbreaks and all. Going to some motel and lusting and living the moments ^^ It's fresh definitely. And sorry if I ended up interpreting the wrong way. ^^'

Ah, in my midnight confession...this is a bit more whimsical (at least on its face) than your norm, but no less well built and effective. "(B)rothel logic" is a poem in its ownself.

An unlikely coupling a fox and hound and yet how two extreme opposites attract. A nice clever intoxicating write!

It's funny I can picture the imagery of people representing the fox and hound in a bar.
My field of imagination pictures prissy people doing naughty things after the party's over. But that probably says more about my imagination than yours.:)
