Consider the Source

Consider the Source

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Consider the Source

i'm abandoning reckless,

turning an oxymoron on end

pitiful love, turned spiteful like

to clothed bones of feeling

participles that actually found homes

a dachshund's breath bowling over

St. Bernard's cross disposition,

and lines that make perfect nonsense

to a heart that needs not read anything

to accept conveyance

of the silent screams of the possessed

and i thought affection really was a mortal wound

that could only be un-bandaged

never really sealed with a kiss

or understood with a percentage of wisdom

learned on-line at Wikipedia

where every truth written

is an absolute certainty

just like love,

and my unsubstantiated existence.
