It's an interesting poem. I had to read it a few times to ensure that it wasn't just my imagination. But it seems that this poem has more than one dimension, in terms of how many ways this could be interpreted. The first few reads felt like a visit to a dentist. But for some reason i was not convinced that this poem was about that, the next few reads though gave me this feeling of loving someone by inflicting pain. And once getting bored of that person. The target changes and another person will go through that same process. Thank you for sharing ^^

NEXT! It seems like some women and men are serial monogamists.....and serial sadists too. They seem to be in love, but it is only a passing fancy. How can they continue to continue? Impossible to figure out. Lydi**

thank you for your words, and the truth in them, lydi.
Not completely sure this refers to dentistry. If it does, however, let me just say, the only "painless dentist" is a dead dentist.
Unfortunately, I've seen those devilish female eyes in many places.
Not really old enough to remember them clearly, but I think I prefer the more wholesome Rosie-the-riveter types.
An intriguing and most creative read, Jacob!

I felt the destruction in this work, a organic destruction in the midst of inorganic construction. It feels both powerful and powerless. Pondering work!! :)
The drill and hardware/wear which is stereotypically associated with the male is handed over to the female 'she', as wreaks her devilish work in someone else's room.
"Is it safe?" :) reminds me of that Dustin Hoffman scene in "Marathon Man" (1976) ..oh that damn drill!! this woman in your poem ..she's a corker isn't she ... sends shivers through my teeth to my jaw and down my legs ... what really gets me is, in that next room, ..someone will open the door and let her in ...yeow!!
