wings being relative

wings being relative

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

wings being relative

Memphis moment painted in dark crimson

a rising star

falls from a sky laden with bullet brevity

there was still a moon to climb

but he only made it to the second floor

of that treacherous mountain montage

before he flew away in a dove's mouth

leaving an interrupted road

littered with flyers

for his next speech...

Again, another nice poem. I really like the crimson and moon line.

From this I got the image of a rising star or public figure slipping from grace or struggling to accomplish reaching what they strove to reach... It was a pleasure to mull over. I admire your writing, Mr Erin-Cilberto.

This feels like you were talking about one of the gazillion republican candidates. I like this, however, because it really could be any bird that just did not quite find its wings, or misjudged the air currents and never got quite the lift he needed. Of course, not dodging bullets is not so good either.

So sad , when it comes no one knows and if they want to live they never are ready but if they are ready it doesn't come, this makes me sad about the eagles band member Glenn Frey today no longer here to bring us the music, such an inspiration to so many.

Very nice. The imagery is well done, still maintaining a potency belied by its brevity.

Culture seems to live in a day time soap opera story while those on the far side of it either paint destruction or add enlightment to our heads.

Coexistence a rooted problem.

Never quite making it to the top, but far enough in his opinion, as he takes the easy way out and hopes for the best. Really good Jacob. I almost thought politician as I read this.

I hope the promised land was everything he dreamed and more. The land he left behind is still weeping.

This poem is truly beautiful.
