wings being relative

 

 

Memphis moment painted in dark crimson

a rising star

falls from a sky laden with bullet brevity

 

there was still a moon to climb

but he only made it to the second floor

of that treacherous mountain montage

 

before he flew away in a dove's mouth

leaving an interrupted road

littered with flyers

for his next speech...

A political downfall comes to mind I hope Its Trump! A great write. The world needs his wings clipped to survive his rule for the world will be coming to an end much quicker!

I can't help but think of Martin Luther King Jr when I read these words, despite being a bit hazy on it being Memphis he was assassinated. (I'm more than half sure it was in Memphis)
If it is the case, then he did only make it to the second floor, but his memory remains and his words still resonate peace in times of hate.
Apologies if I have misread the situation Jacob, I just remember being told constantly that he died the year I was born.

Sounds like a political candidate... No matter what the seem to fly into the sky with, it all seems to fall like crap. (Just saying...) *he types as he shrugs like a business crook/politician, with pooched out lips, crinkled under a bad excuse for a hairpiece*
