a sentence ending with emotional prepositionsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoa sentence ending with
emotional prepositions
evasive
subjects, careless verbs ask
questions infer pronoun references
without thinking first
how the gerunds might
object to infinite infinitive
inquisition,
adjectives are more than
ready to talk they want to describe
incessantly
but the dangling
participles nod their heads
"no" then try to find a place
to sit
all is quiet, an ellipsis of
uncomfortable silence, but during that period,
quotation marks decipher
thoughts that are better left dangling than said,
a transition between
love
and
a few missing
conjunctions.
