Nothing but noise if the words don't keep us together... As always, your metaphor is perfect, Jacob. I must confess, though, in the middle of this very serious piece, I giggled at this:
but the dangling participles
nod their heads "no"
then try to find a place to sit

holy canoli, what in tarnation I can't say that I truly know English anymore. it's all out the window, I did at one time excel at English, but 'twas years ago, and now, that has long since past, and I am here scratching my head like a cavewoman. still the fore thought that must have gone into placing each thing just so is brilliant; however,
me tarzette today.

thank you for your words, and the smile, jesserose
We too often end up handling our situations of LOVE like a sentence with the grammar totally out of sorts; "Well, Honey I do love you BUT I forget what time it was", or "TRYING, Darling", "THINKING of you all the time"; "Baby, it's only you I''m looking AT"!......LOL The missing conjunctions just seem to have fallen off the participle cliff, and oh Dang, here come those quotation marks again, "Dang it, I told you so!".
Great job of poking fun at how we just love to mess up LOVE!

Uh- Oh .......... Lost.... I need a grammar book to review this one.

Or you did too many reviews today :-)

thanks, Connie...nothing like that unconscious....
I always like poetry that personifies parts of speech. Yes, participles will dangle and an ellipsis will last an eternity. Missing conjunctions....can we find them and put them in just the right place after the adjectives talk? Can't put the genie back in the bottle. I liked this a lot. Lydi**
