out and in

out and in

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

out and in

echoes of all the you's
that once were part of an "us"
dim morning light
thoughts of moons removed
clouds, the memories outside my window
the dusty glass converges
with the pane in my mind

i quit looking out,
years ago,
there are enough mirrors inside.

As if nature remembered the beauty experienced and empathized with the pain of loss.

I physically felt the piercing coldness of the last few lines. Your words are powerful, Jacob.

It's a very mesmerizing piece of creativity sir. Thought-provoking yet nice. I will need to spend 5-10 years in writing to reach this stage and i really mean it. Sophistication and feelings are the backbone of beautiful poems. Thanks for sharing :)

All memories of the sad past is fading...No more "us", because "you" are being erased...and it is time to look at "myself".
Powerful piece about moving on.

I love this...lots of depth...the 'pane' in my mind great double meaning. There are always enough mirrors inside aren't there. Beautiful words clearly spoken from within.

Great stuff, Jacob. Moon, clouds, glass and mirrors. In and out. You put the emotional in such short form it's like a lightning strike. Albeit a lightning strike of sorrow. CD

Such craft...

Looking out a window in dim morning light -
the memories of early times that stir us at early times when, looking out a window, we see our own image - the change, the moving on, and yet not. The reminders outside only snapshots of what hangs in the gallery within. Do we even need to gaze through, to feel, the window pane, when the whole panorama is inside.

Thank you, once again, Jacob, for the irresistible need to pause and to consider.
