Brilliantly penned reflection on those oft thought images that never quite match up to what the reality would be.
Great flow to this piece Jacob. The best writes always seem so effortless.
I wish you a soft heart, a warm hug, love and laughter over the holidays and every day there after, dear poet. Blessings, and thank you for inspiring and always being kind :)
Its hard to go back home if your home does not exist! Recently I drove past my late Grandparents house to see how it had changed. It was a house of great memories! It was sad to see it was bulldozed and a more modern house was erected like it never existed now only in thought! This poem reminded me of this transition. Nice work as always Jacob

Melancholy and, of course, metaphorical.
"...a lonely street lamp/ lit with regrets," encapsulates it, rather nicely.
No one, Jacob, expresses wretched sadness better than you.
