Selling Back the Used TextA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
the
bruise on my ear from the slap of your
words, the stinging drum, my heart beats a little
slower now without you to silence
my lips with your kiss,
that tenderness once in
your eyes now reflects the cold
pupil learning what it's like
to be dismissed from class
without the slightest
degree of understanding
