at the station of inevitability

at the station of inevitability

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

at the station of inevitability

strangely delayed,
love's terminal
waiting,

destination driven too strongly
by abstract infatuation
waiting,

the tracks heated,
electric subway underneath the cloak of midnight
sheets melded to skin melded to blue moons

waiting,

where are you?
ticket in hand,
last stop, me

i'm holding my breath
i hear the moment coming
there are vibrations on the track

waiting,

feeling you near,
then,
a face looks out the window

at a glance, i saw
counted the hearts disembarking

yours not among them.
now,

waiting,
for the next train.

Written so well Jacob. The tension and anticipation building from start to finish. I love it! ~Sharon

I found the title intriguing, as if acknowledging recognition of the difference between love and obsession.
My favourite line was
'Sheets melded to skin melded to blue moons'

I love this, Jacob. Lately it feels you have dug a little deeper, like not writing just for the sake off it. More like exhaling poetry and/but with the same skill...shrugs. probably just me. Just feels different...

And the foolish heart will continue to wait until dark I suppose. Hope dies slowly with someone in love. You have a way of writing that--as Richard advised to me once--cuts out the fat. All unnecessary words are taken out leaving only meaning. I have to try this method soon.

Always a good poem from you Jacob.

Great piece of work Jacob, we spend
so much time waiting and sometimes
the anticipation is greater than the
reward, metaphorically beautiful.

Dost thou not speaketh as The Master did, Jacob The Non-liar?
Parables are analogies; analogies, pretty much metaphors.
Great sermon! (homily?)--on the integral role hope plays in the unceasing search for love.

Tremendous metaphors and it took me a bit to follow, but then my mind opened as I slowed my read to absorb the finesse of your words. I very much enjoyed it.

I write, but lack the depth of knowledge and vocabulary and I know I could work on that, but I am just happy to keep my brain on the track so I will leave well enough alone. I enjoy all levels of poetry, if it seems to have some redeeming value or at least makes me smile and laugh. Of course if you touch my heart all bets are off.

Peace out my friend and Merry Christmas.
