A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

sheet music

caustic blues,

acid tones

strings disintegrate

in the moody liquid night

the sax intrudes

horns disturb in sassy traffic

drums tap

heavy handed

she sheds a tear

leaves lipstick on her cigarette

a shade that was meant for his lips

outside a neon light

flickers, a couple letters missing

burned out like she is

she looks around for a match

hums along with the band.

Jacob, I love this. So deep and rich in emotion just like the blues. I love the blues, it IS "liquid night", thick and sultry. This is an awesome scene, full of vivid imagery and deep smoky tones, I'm keeping it :)

my pleasure. Awesome piece, Jacob :)
such an emotive packed moment ... a dissonance against ...lets say New Orleans ... like back alleys too far around the corner ... but there she is ... like cats landing on feet ... still hell bent ..but at least alive and walking .. fine experience in reading .. into the 'ol library it goes ..joy and peace

All the items you mentioned above
