you know when the sun comes out real bright after a heavy rain and there is a rainbow...next time that happens i am going to jump in the first puddle i see and think of this poem!!you paint suck a beautiful picture in my mind...:)
I love the juxtaposition of "the arrow impales our hearts" and "like high definition", the old meeting the new. Wry look at the nature of true commitment....y'know, sort of.

such a smile your replies always give me...thank you, my friend...
I kinda, sorta like the reasoning here Jacob. When it comes to being in love with another human
there will be unfashionable places it will take you. And then everything will be in a slowness
or high definitional wetness that will adequately define all your intentions.
Remarkable analogy happing within this interplay of atmosphere and color.
Life if full of "kinda sorta" moments and situations. Commitment is a scary thing to many people....and yet....and yet....without it we are alone. The trick is to get your feet wet without catching cold! It is always a pleasure to read you, Jacob. Lydi**

such an insightful interpretation...thank you for your words and constant support, Lydi.. read moresuch an insightful interpretation...thank you for your words and constant support, Lydi..
I kinda sorta like the kinda sorta feel behind this one Jacob. Indifference or knowing fate leads the way, we take whatever rains down on us and each percieves a different scenario, through which we fool ourselves that every choice was made rationally, which is a word not often associatef with love.
Haha. The title is the best!
I enjoyed the ambivalence here, or was it hedging? To me, it communicates the tentativeness of new love. The metaphors were a lot of fun too...umbrellas, rain, puddles and getting wet. Kinda reminds me of being a kid. or ee cummings poem about the world being 'puddle wonderful'
Did any of that make sense? I enjoyed the poem, anyway.
