the little shop of second hand emotions

the little shop of second hand emotions

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the little shop of second hand emotions

you drive me to pleasant

insanity,

a cuckoo conundrum

i am significantly consigned to your love

like i am borrowing shelf space in your heart

selling myself to your eyes

and you keeping every penny of my thoughts

such a beautiful proposition,

let's close the shop

draw the shades,

and divvy up the proceeds.

Those second hand emotions are like pre-loved books; fascinating and hard to put down, especially if there are little notes written on the flyleaf.

Loved this from first line to last. Beccy.

let's close the shop
draw the shades,
and divvy up the proceeds.

Those three lines speak volumes and here I am thinking naughty..sorry. I dont have to say.

thank you, Cassie...:)
"You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em"...even in relationships. Some things are not worth fighting for. Thing is, sometimes "pleasant insanity" is worth the ride. Difficult to determine if the pros outweigh the cons. This one has me smiling for some reason. I liked it. Lydi**

thank you, my friend...

I found this intriguing, and will probably spend quite a bit of time pondering over it.
I wonder why the elated tone when it seems you are not the sole object of her attention...
As if you just said 'to hell with it!' and decided to enjoy the ride.
Interesting. Thought provoking. Fun. Good.
Thanks for this.

I like the height that I felt this poem has. Shelf space in your heart is such a perfect line…this is one of my favorites that you have written.

Uh, Oh............I hear the tellers bell ringing. I'm not gonna ask: "Whats Up?" cause it's sure not the shades.

ooooooooooooooooooo! dear friend! seems a loosing proposition. :o/ really tweeked by the movie and song connection .. (probably only in my mind) .. and your "..cuckoo conundrum" is so understandably crazy boy!!! one always looses if being consigned .. you be well young man! may you have peace and serenity bliss :)

Sometimes we just feel fed up
of going unseen
we do everything to be noticed by only one

and we just cant seem to find a way to be touched

so we just hide away
