Only Loud Enough Not to Hear the Raindrops

Only Loud Enough Not to Hear the Raindrops

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Only Loud Enough Not to Hear the Raindrops

docile danger

she's got stormy eyes

lightning heart

a fine girl with severe voice

playing heartbreak in my ear

like i'm wearing headphones

blasting the dark wood

outside my window's whisper

trusted temptress

she's got my eyes blind

the trees are down

and i'm hearing a strange rustling

must be the cracks

that pin me between flashes

of a brilliance

i only imagined existed

between us.

love the last stanza. packs quite a punch.

sometimes, our imagination paints a much brighter picture than what reality is.

what a re-gift to us! Your soul in tightly boxed words that at desperate times
wants to explode across the page. excellent piece

Best to stay with the imagined brilliance, oh the shine, the shine that lights on you. The remainder, well, it's just a lie.

See you next time Jacob!

Regards,

Al

Then I guess she and this poem both have the haunting ability to be a siren. There are lines within this tear me down and make me rustle like those leaves. Most invigorating!
