riding English into Autumn's Hollow

riding English into Autumn's Hollow

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

riding English into Autumn's Hollow

the incident happened at the pass

ambushed by the scent of your smile

i was engaged before i saw you,

fell off my proverbial horse

thrown from my saddle

letting go of apathetic reins

posting poetry to smooth the ride

i never expected you would knock me off my pivot

with such graceful ease

leave me walking home

a pen with sore feet

dancing garrulously

back to the ghost town

where i left my heart.

terrific title...and perfect word play.

yes, love often does "ambush" us. when we look for it, we never find it. but it has a habit of sneaking up on us when we least expect it.

part of the marvelous mystery of it all....

You should have said "something" I'm inclined to give rides to poems. Besides I have some ghosts for relatives. Oats for the horse by all means!

Falling in love, can often feel like an accidental occurrence; an ambush, captivated by a smile of a person or a passion in life. Can leave one still reeling from the "fall" wonderful write, j

Well I love the title for a start. Quite a mind and thought process to even think of that, let alone write it and completely own it. I read this as being about the beauty of writing, and the pain. But as we know too well, I can read it again tomorrow and read something more in the lines. Second last is superbly thought...with such graceful ease
leave me walking home

dancing garrulously

Wonderfully written as ever Jacob.
