Nature and its wonder and wonderful bemusement and the fairness and unfairness of it all. They say a life is a life, no matter how short, but that's usually said by the old and so called wise.
I was thinking along similar lines this morning about nature. I was going to write some beautiful words about the wonder and beauty of it all and call it "stop being a bytch and put the heating back on"
I should explain that it is currently silly degrees and a Siberian storm is on its way,so nature is not in my good books at the minute.
Beautiful write once more Jacob.
this one really resonates with me because I feel very strongly about the fact that life is over in an instant, and we should live each day as if it were our last; i hope i never look back on my life and regret not taking a chance or an opportunity.
your piece speaks to the brevity of life, but there are so many applications because life is fleeting, regardless of weather we are talking about the seasons, a child who never gets to grow, or an old person reflecting on his or her life. it's all relative. and it's all so very brief....
Perhaps it's best that innocence leave before witnessing horror. Yes, they will miss all earthly beauty but then again that limbo might have a beauty of its own.
I always enjoy poems about nature and this feels very appropriate for fall. It resonates with the traditional symbolism of autumn. It's really amazing to me that the simple sight of a falling leaf can inspire deep thoughts on the often unfair nature of life and death. Cool poem : )
The gift of life, no matter how small it is..is a gift. Yet it is so easily taken for granted. Gone in an instant. For some, out of sight; out of mind. It's very unfortunate and very sad.
