lake effectA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
you are
my mirror glass eyes blue streaks of prying
red cheeks of crying darting pupils darkening, learning,
educated
a degree in separation diploma of
desperation cracks in prism
potential
i see a face behind me opposite lines reflected
in abstract aging a heart like peeling
wallpaper
you unwrap parallel
emotions with such ease, i become a graduate in
signature severance
took years, lots of winsome Windex
clarity and closing gaps of
disparity.
now the bottle's empty but i am filled with
understanding.
