inevitable fall

inevitable fall

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

inevitable fall

burdensome autumn

he recalls her vibrancy

sees sad colors change

the hue of his view

clings to the tree of existence

biding his time, waiting to join her

a lone leaf lured to the ground

when winter’s breeze beckons.

Great metaphor to encompass the loss of a loved one who is taken from the tree of life, as those remaining long for togetherness.

This is a sad one!
I like the regular 4 line stanzas, and the alliteration on the third lines.
The topic also is one I find powerful- the imagery suits it perfectly.

Beautiful, mournful words Jacob, waiting to join her when winter's breeze beckons.

It sure is getting cold brother. Fall is the season for poets. I love how the she is lured to the ground. Great way to feel about it. Cheers!

Autumn colors hung around only a short time here. Too much wind and rain. Little beauty left to enjoy. Valentine
