incidental contact in still life pose

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

incidental contact in still life pose

icy fingers

frozen keys

frigid life of a poet

with a snow blind mind

words in disarray

from the blizzard

that never really happened

except in cold compress

of a thoughtful inertia of ideas.

i love poetry that speaks to the angst in a poet's soul.

it reminds me of the suspended animation of writer's block....

great piece!

thank you for your words, my friend.

"inertia of ideas" I have been suffering from just that lately. Frozen thoughts, fingers, and keyboard keys. The words are all there, but they make no sense. They taunt and tease. Ah yes, I relate. Wonderful. Lydi**

it truly was. Thank you.
That is because when we cannot think, sleep or speak we write. When we cannot write we read. My icy fingers have read a universe of late. As always your work sings to me.

thank you.
sounds like my night. "Icy fingers frozen keys a frigid life of a poet" nothing, a hot cup of tea can't fix. haha brilliantly done, j. Your metaphors always amaze me.

Jacob, I am always left to ponder your words, with awe and a little envy.

I was wondering, as I often do, what comes first for you - the title or the body of the poem? Just curious...

Sounds astounding. Many kinda perspectives your poetry's being written across. Always an intriguing read! Well, "love" and the "words" or "words" n "love" both walk in peers so it's always interesting to see which overcome the analogies of heart with "Satisfaction" first: love or words, cos.. the funny thing is without love, there's no "Word" and without "words", there's nothing not even the shades of love. What a beautiful & thought evoking write you've come up with!

thank you for the really insightful review, Adams...

Your version of poet's block maybe? But if so, never put so dramatically. There's an atmosphere of numbed emotions, a loss of knowing why did it happen, did it happen and.. how.. ?

Your intensity is sometimes - hard to follow, but always worthy of yet another few reads.
