the clear and present danger

the clear and present danger

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the clear and present danger

philosophical differences
of two chemically charged counterparts
a division of wealth,

a pauper's vision of viral longing
diseased dichotomy,
but the explosion, immaculate.

i read this one several times, and see different things each time. that's what makes it such an intriguing and well-crafted piece.

i envision a member of a bomb squad, all geared up in protective gear, trying to figure out which wire to clip to diffuse the bomb. one wrong move, and BOOM! everyone blown to smithereens....

I find this very fascinating and intriguing. When I read this, I thought of the moment when two complete opposites attract. But, are they really opposite? perceptions of similarities or differences, can be so mixed. so many variables play in to it...In my humble experience, sometimes opposites, can be perfect complements — even if their differences can be downright explosive..hopefully in a good way.. Lol, I don't why this got me thinking about "love"..had too much chamomile..haha great read, j.

Interesting the different takes on this poem Jacob. But it's that kind of write, open and acceptable to interpretation, which is part of the joy of reading such excellent poetry.

Clear and present danger of course, is not always that clear until it presents itself and hindsight is no compensation. :-))

you are so true, hindsight is no compensation...only more debt for the memories to accrue.

For some reason, the piece made me think of possible grounds for divorce: on the first stanza, irreconcilable differences and second stanza, infidelity. Short piece but plenty of meaning.

If two people are all hotheaded, and started an argument, a boom will happen as a result of their puerility. Thank you for sharing.

Insight.

Matter and anti matter will annihilate one another - the meek shall be raised up in the end.
This is powerful and timely Jacob.

Brilliant as ever Jacob. I may very well be wrong, but I read North Korea into this, but if you read between the lines long enough, it could also be about an acrimonious divorce. Thought provoking words either way.
