remembering the stairsA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoremembering the stairs
five
story window dressing looking down at myself through the pane
i see remnants of a
heart that once splattered
from the fall yet kept beating
and when i look up, the glass a bit clearer the sky becomes halcyon beckoning,
reflecting the you i once saw in my dreams
when we stood next to
the sun and the rent we afforded
for the apartment
was paid in love.
