the lodgerA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertothe lodger
terrified
corner a Ripper's dream incisions of the heart
love cut at the throat
of logic emotions shouldn't walk
the dark streets when cloaked villains
are waiting
to subdue naivety and leave a trail of
bloodless prints perhaps imagination, of
how she once felt
before her organ of
memory was removed by his deft
reserve.
