patterns on their faces

patterns on their faces

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

patterns on their faces

a touch of cool

the trees shade,

explicit language in muted color

the turning leaves express

what the poet can't even imagine

life's breath cut short

in vibrant hues

always the prettiest before the fall

and existence wrought of wind blown silence

then the shuffling feet of those incompetent artists

sleepwalk through verses

mar the scene

but with good intention.

nature paints more beautiful pictures than any poet or artist can.

our mere words pale in comparison to nature's majesty. looking upon nature's beauty, one does not need words.

we are all humbled by it, no matter how magnificent we think our words are.

thank you, jacob, for keeping us humble.

Autumn is a colourful season before nature takes a rest and everyone tries to capture these moments, the beauty this season carries. A tremendous piece!

I love fall, my favorite season in life, but still, there is beauty in every season, depends on what you're looking for. I don't stumble around the words for much of what I feel, usually remain silent like the winter. Hibernating emotion is difficult for one who wants to write, so I am one amongst those that "mar the scene" I call it "spring fever" lol I wish I could be as brilliant as nature that uses no words at all and yet is deeply, profoundly...touching.

Wow, I'm really amazed by the beauty of this poem jacob, it carries so many thoughts.
"sleepwalk through verses"
Maybe sometimes we don't even know what we as writers write but it can cause a good impact on people who read it.
Its a really good poem jacob.

thank you for the kind words, Lizardo.

as poets we try to capture the essence of autumnal change and though we can describe the visual effects of that change, we cannot begin to grasp the deeper changes occurring...

this reminded me of a friend of the family who passed away shortly after my dad died last year..his name was Jack and the day before he died (after weeks of not eating; his body slowly waning), he was full of life, ate all his meals, told stories and jokes and fell asleep with his family standing around...the next morning, he was gone...'the prettiest before the fall'...

sometimes we need no words at all...an awesome piece, Jacob

Like nature
Everything takes time
Even words ..... a true poet cycles through the year with words
Blooming, dying, re-birthing and glowing

I was listening to this while reading this poem
this woman has got immense hidden talent beyond what she shows ..... she over does it while she doesnt need to ..... she is talented
