on that road againA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
prolific
highway, bi-partisan profits
loomed once until recession
assimilated---
just words,
meaningless filament strands of semantics
i found you by the side
of the road we were: travelers twixt the
tenements but walls never really
vacate the city of reflect
now the poem is again a
lone traveler mirrored against a
scenic destination
a vast rural effect love with its thumb in
the air
benevolently bankrupt, hitching a ride to
another smile
