A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

No Visitors Allowed

prolific insanity

uncoiled profanity

uncontrollable stoicism

laughing blankly, a face without twists

smooth blue skin

no goodbyes rendered

a white room memo

life escaped from the mind somehow

i called in dead

now the excitement's so bland

in a sky of random expletives

i tender my resignation

from a menu of last words

capture one last thought

in transit

then visit the gallows

of shallow vocabulary

with my pen a hanging visage

before crazy love

puts me away

for good.

Marriage is an institution but love will have us institutionalized.
A menu of last words... I like that. I'll take one good-bye with a side of love.
Costly menu. Awesome poem.

"before crazy love puts me away for good"

well, i've heard it said that love is a form of madness.....which I do believe is true.

love this piece.

thank you for your kind words, rubie.

'laughing blankly' and 'face without twists' reminds me of an old mother superior, who had the face of a cinder block... and i was also reminded of a locally written song called the "Swearing Song" that has the line: 'cursed until he was blue in the face, he had time for nothing else' ...but it's tough when all that you do can't even crack a smile or draw a response from the one you love, finally ending up in that rubber room where visitors are prohibited...great penning, my friend

I found some laughable lines in this Jacob. I hope I took it all correctly. Valentine

yes, there is humor, though dark,in this...always like to have smiles in the darkest pieces.

Sometimes it feels wrong to understand so readily all the various shades of meaning beyond just the intended that are presented - all at once... but life experience means that for some. This went well with coffee...
