Bad Penmanship

Bad Penmanship

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Bad Penmanship

pencil sharp

razor lead

cuts the page

rage

of ill advised words

continents explode

erasers useless

in the fray

too much already said

imprint bleeds

forever into the broken heart

peace talks

just uneasy momentum

never the same,

our gaze is cross

something's lost

the tip of trust

shattered.

nothing but vast oceans

of tears left

reversal of creation

of what really mattered.

This write brought to mind the north south Korea conflict at present and your last stanza a nuclear war would reverse creation as we know it. Its scary that a world can be in Jeopardy over so few in power! From the power of words

i don't think should (or can) ever underestimate the power of words.

once spent, they cannot be retrieved and the damage is irrevocably done. so true what they say...it takes a lifetime to build trust, but just a moment to destroy it forever.

a very compelling write.

As always my fellow wordsmith, your thoughts totally captivate this reader with the perfection of metaphor that rings as true and sharp as its own penciled lead. ~SP

Always my pleasure Jacob! ~S
The power of our words/pen could inspire or destroy. Indeed, erasers have no use as we cannot really take back whatever we have said/written.

This is a very new sense of being you wrote this from-- Very Refreshing.

I find I too tend to fall into my "Poetic Self" so often when sitting down to write. And though the words and themes change, the poems kinda don't. Cool to see such a striking example of how changing one's state brings on a whole different world of writing. Even states I usually don't jive with I find to be beneficial for this.

Observing your evolution spurs my own. Thank you~

at times we write without thinking and those eruptions destroy what once was, turning back the clock on the relationship; erasing all good memories...it's too late to rub them out once they are 'out there'...love this...

Sharp, quick as though all the negotiated words written down suddenly flew away!
