The Humpty-Dumpty EffectA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoThe Humpty-Dumpty Effect
rocks and rain
glistening intentions stationary looks and regrets
and tears left falling
over the stone face
of a boy who now wonders
why he didn't make the move then
.......every time he
stands in a rain and remembers slogging
through hesitation
too slowly to catch her as she was falling just
out of his reach.
