Pensive PercolationA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoPensive
Percolation
i sip
morning dark thoughts, hold the sunlight, clouds curdle in the
deep of the cup thoughts of you burn the
tongue of my heart
i wait for my Danish to
warm eyes vacantly scan the
Times' print reading every word the
same stream of prolific
memory redundant themes of us each article is my
breakfast of epiphany
you are gone, and the next meal will
just be more of the same
noxious nutrition biting at my insides
with intrusive recollection
and more bland coffee.
