the ceiling of pain

the ceiling of pain

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the ceiling of pain

a torrid of pinpricks

the clouds leak insomnia tears

sorrow never sleeps

and we become the cushion

for feelings to penetrate

until there is no sky left

just a vast blue nothing.

it will keep you up at night wont it Jacob? Sorrow never sleeps soundly. In fact it is so restless
it saps the very blue from the sky. (great analogy)..

Beautifully written my friend....dana

you are right...it is restless...

thank you, dana.
Those pinpricks feel like knife wounds when Morpheus is being unkind. Every problem looms. Every heartbreak comes to call. Insomnia....it stinks!

I can feel this pain draping over my mind in a cloudless sky. A real beauty here!

Stunning strokes of emotional imagery here~ and almost a Rumi-esque completion.

Perhaps that is the purpose of such never-sleeping emotions-- to break us through to the nothing that lies outside the skies we paint.

Pain can be permanent unfortunately, if you don't take the steps to heal. I know. Great poem 😊
