Creation's Circumstance

Creation's Circumstance

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Creation's Circumstance

i met your skin last night

an evolution of chemicals

ignited my heart into fallible explosion

and i thought my walls were so perfectly built

a fortress of frozen brick,

but one touch of your mortared invitation

my resistance became a flawed effigy

of evasion,

and one body became another became one

violent delights

a skyscraper of love

infinitely reaching towards a delighted moon.

'Creation's Circumstance'
Jacob,
Well this was quite fun to read. You used emotion backed by images of creation within a relational delight. How can we find the right words but we do. Life and it's relationships really do make our worlds whole. Whether it is within the confines of marriage, friendship or whatever it is something which has to be built, treasured. This poem showed that fulfillment and it is just something to be thankful for. To be in a place where we can simply smile and soak in the joy.
Thanks for a super fun poem.

It's incredibly charming when a writer can unravel their affection for someone into fine strings of adoration, such as an appreciation of details like the 'evolution of chemicals'. Nicely done.

Mushy stuff, grown-up mushy stuff.
My many years of viewing early cowboy movies incline me more to tonguelessly kiss my horse and ride off into a black-and-white sunset.
Inwardly, guess I'm still under twelve.
Gotta admit, though, this piece generated some fascinating images--and not a little heat!
New take on: "To the moon, Alice!"

Side by side, building an empire of happiness, and fireworks around that skyscraper of ecstasy.
A bit brighter than your usual gloom, yet with your signature of vivid figurative language.
