dear Jacob, you caught me at the
end, after nibbling on your lure of
a whisper of a ripple at dusk. We
spend time under a shade tree where
families fish until the bewitching hour
where ripples and swirls kiss the waves
of canoes returning from secret inlet
coves of inspiration. I found your poem
to be a keeper. truly, Pat

I can relate! Inspiration comes quickly and then leaves just before the words can be written...a sort of poem interuptus! :) You, though, throw many a line on the page. Good one. Lydi**
Writing about not being able to write. This is so far my favorite poem by you. Rather than say more, for I cannot do this poem justice, I simply will read again. Thank you.
I thought 2 ways on this one. How I feel when the mind blanks, and also how my husband, an avid fisherman must have felt when he had the big one on and couldn't bring it in. Coming up empty hurts. Valentine
Ah, to be one of those people who can bring poetry all Athena-like springing fully formed from their heads. This is a wonderfully spun and tightly executed metaphor, such things so much your speciality that we may need to start referring to them as "erin-clibertos".
