A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Arrangement

i've been Garfunkeled into solo retreat

the bridge teetering in a sky of why

friendships trestle over blue waters

hands no longer shake

but wave goodbye----

notes sprinkled with salty tremor

the voice stolen by subjugate age

and then i listen to my own record

feel mislabeled

A.S.C.A.P. ways entitle me to sing to

the moribund wind of change

i am the lessened spice of life

engaged to an ending

that comes all too soon

like a shotgun wedding.

this one strikes me as sad....

a kind of running out of time, feeling regrets at chances not taken....

and said so beautifully....

I can envision that swinging bridge and the holding on, the step by step to the other side...now there...
bid fear and mundane gone...lots new, maybe even self-seasoned..

yes, it is...but even the most sturdy things....break over time.

thank you, Corset.
"Fools, said I, you cannot know that silence like a cancer grows..." Thank God that your pen still speaks and we still have ears to hear; minds to comprehend and hearts to understand.
