a drug is a drug is a drug, and we are all addicts. It don't matter if it's booze or speed, sex or...love. Some we take to stop feeling, others we take to feel. Life is an intoxication...and so is your poetry :)
WOW Jacob, and I thought I was the only one who chose the headache pain of a hangover to the pain of lost love... so what are you drinking, I'm buying this round... always amazed at the words you sling.. they know a real poet when they see one and decide to come out your pen... cool poem

I've never taken a drink in my life. And my Dad from his cemetery vault still calls me a sissy, which
was his word for anyone who didn't get carried home by his friends at least once in their lives.
and a friend of mine asked me the other night, after all you've been thru, how can you manage
this world without a stiff "bleeder" once in a while? And my answer was "poetry" my friend.
In poetry the lover can always be written to return. Your the most prolific writer amongst us my
friend. dana

never got into it much...too many friends and an ex who are alcoholics and it is such a struggle...

Fantastic write, a fine country song in the making … but with this approach your only hope is obliteration … for me drinking has always made the memories sharper.
You really and truly mean that? Your words are written in such a tongue in cheek way that i wonder if .. if maybe you've scribbled them on the ground just before a squall and.. know full well that you'll smile when you see them gone. Maybe?
