Generally "just a slight cut" doesn't get into an arterial bleed. They're direct from the heart and not so innocuous. I'm suspecting this guy's trying to minimize a deeper wound. I'm also guessing with morning light she'll still be up in the corner of his bathroom mirror. I figure Aesop would find her the grape and he the fox. Nicely understated write, not between the lines rather underneath them. By the way, a big fat blunt works a whole lot better for forgetting. Alcohol thins the blood and only adds to the loss.

She probably will be there, no doubt.
thanks for your review,

We think to drown out misery. Thing is, alcohol burns in open wounds. Kills infection. Burns like hellfire. And the wound remains. No one has ever found a good painkiller for a broken heart.

What love will do to a person. When they thought it was true, having hit 'rock' bottom when the other breaks their heart. Never at all a good feeling for sure. Outstanding piece.
Just what you need when you want to forget. Not only delicious but seems to do the trick every time. Hope you feel better now jacub.....Neville

If every poem of my own was taken literally, I would be locked up or dead by now and am very much aware that writing often reflects the writers imagination more so than any situation, circumstance or experience he/she may have had or indeed is likely to ever have.
