A Vision Of Heaven

A Vision Of Heaven

A Poem by Eric Cox

Beyond the cemeteries, up in the beautiful star painted skies
The souls of those once here breathe in beauty from God's eyes
He created a place where tears can no longer haunt our souls
Heaven is where His love soothes hardships which gnaw like holes
Light will shine in our eyes and never become void of hope
When in need of help never at loss for a rope
When we pass through the gates those we lost will be found
The comfort of their presence will forever surround
Jesus we will see with our new found eyes
His guidance will be near and secrets realized
We will be free from evil that falls like rain
Free from the darkness which causes pain filled stains
Beauty will surround us with the touch of a soothing breeze
Places lost can be in view, and castles, meadows and trees
God shines a light of His own more beautiful than the sun
God paints rainbows and auroras mostly at night which stun
Among the stars the Northern Star shines brighter each night
Till the birthday of  Jesus when it illuminates with light
Let's ride unicorns and ride winged horses through the sky
Let's pet the panthers and wolves, let's smile as each creature sighs
Let's listen to concerts and the words of the Great Ones
Let's praise the heroes and the love that never abandons
God created a place where tears can no longer haunt our souls
Heaven is where His love soothes hardships which gnaw like holes
Beyond the cemeteries, up in the beautiful star painted skies
The souls of those once here breathe in beauty from God's eyes.

It is interesting the way you mix Christian and non-Christian imagery.Lots of nice
phrases in an optimistic poem.

What a beautiful place heaven must be. Just the thought of seeing those that have crossed over before. No more pain or sorrow. The stars painting the sky. As always your words paint an awesome picture of a place we can only hope to see.

*Chuckle* I love how you are able to write very dark poems, followed by ones that are very enlightening. Diversity is always good. Sticking to one setting can really... haunt someones soul

Ghost; this is a wonderful, very positive and uplifting poem. Even in darkness there is always light, always hope. We just need to have faith.
