Loss

Loss

A Poem by Eric Cox

We visit cemeteries with memories of times bright
remembering loved ones who slipped out of sight
sometimes bringing beautiful flowers
and talking to them for hours
With loss our lives stretch on
till our times to leave dawn
tears fall for those we care for
who have passed out the door
So we pay tribute some days to them
the memory of them will never grow dim
but we feel such a loss deep inside
for the beauty of their presence has died.

This is going into my library. I just wrote about ancestors. You almost know what I am thinking and write about it. Thanks for sharing.

Very beautiful yet very sad too. The pain of loss can cut deep and be everlasting. A wonderful poem. It hits straight as a persons emotions.

Wow this is a very touching piece. It's short and sweet and even though it is about death there is this hopefulness about it that is so refreshing. It has a great flow too (I'm a sucker for a good flow). Well done.
