Autumn's Beauty

Autumn's Beauty

A Poem by Eric Cox

Red, yellow and orange brightly paint the trees
I feel and see the beautiful Autumn breeze
I dream of living in a cozy little town
with wood smoke and peacefulness to drown
walks in Autumn woods would bring a smile to my soul
such beauty and peace would paint my life full
Autumn shines brighter than any rich man's gold
Autumn's beauty slices through the cold
the trees paint the city with colored beauty
the cool air caresses my soul like the sea
I dream of a quiet home deep in a lovely forest
the beauty of nature and cute critters I so miss
if only life could be the way we want it to be
if only dreams wouldn't feel like only fantasies
if only tragedies and illness couldn't haunt and thrive
if only the beauty of Autumn mirrored our lives.

Very beautiful poem. You describe autumn's beauty perfectly. I love this time of year and your poem just explains why. Why most people love this time of year. Outstanding imagery in this, very peaceful and relaxing. The last has a tinge of sadness and I agree with your words. How much more we could enjoy life it sickness and hard times didn't haunt us.

it's a rare treat to soak in such a rich autumn... in my part of the world there is no distinct autumn... this was expressed in wonderful, tranquil detail.

Thank you
What powerful contrasts from life and the sweet rainbow of seasons... The beauty is so gently remembered, and yet the world somehow loses that sense of wonder... May you once more find that joy in the changing of the leaves.. like butterflies that hover on the trees... Thank you for sharing something so richly moving.

Autumn really IS a beautiful season, and it's tying with spring as my favorite season. This poem gave a wonderfully warm feeling, and it soothed me (I'd just had a nightmare) and it did bring me a smile.

Wonderful!!!

Autumn is a beautiful season but some beauty can be found in all seasons depending on the circumstances our life is experiencing. My favorite time of year is Spring when all things in nature are coming back to life once again. I wish life could be the way we wanted it and tragedy couldn't haunt us and thrive. This is an awesome poem, Ghost.
