Phantom of the OperaA Poem by Eric Cox
Sinister organ music he madly plays
the Phantom of the Opera's heart is haunted and grey he is surrounded by Gothic painted gloom like a dark haunted theatre tomb up above him plays paint happiness he cannot feel the beautiful caress he watches her with desolate longing how he wants to ease his soul's crying one evening he cannot bear the pain he takes her captive to end lonely rain beneath the theatre he tries to win her soul but mad darkness dances in his skull and she sees behind his mask one night and is shocked by his deformed and tragic blight the Phantom of the Opera ends up alone, haunted and grey beneath the theatre his sinister organ music echoes decay. © 2010 Eric CoxAuthor's Note
