Eclipse Of The Sun

Eclipse Of The Sun

A Poem by Eric Cox

Like the moon eclipsing the sun
depression darkens the light of fun
it paints our skies darker than black
the hope felt within will wither and crack
nothing in the future will appear bright
we are haunted by the blackness of night
down a road of tears within we go
our eyes seem empty and cannot glow
life has lost the fun we once knew
our hearts are now haunted and blue
if the sun would shine all this would end
the wounds deep within us would mend
if only light would shine on everyone
if only the moon could not eclipse the sun.

Extremely well written. Like that the the first and last line talk about the 'moon eclipsing the sun'. It flows wonderfully.

Really good poem about depression. It takes away a persons hope & gives dark thoughts & many tears. Not easy to move forward I'm sure. Eclipse of the sun is a good comparison.

So painful but your words ring so true. Beautiful words for a very painful situation to be in.

Very skillfully written poem about the hell of depression. Nicely written, with no extra words, everything fits perfectly. There's a beauty to your words here as well as pain.

This one hurts with a slow ache. Nicely done capturing depression in such a darkly beautiful way. Awesome job.
