Visions Of Beauty

Visions Of Beauty

A Poem by Eric Cox

The fiery sun is sinking below the horizon

orange and red glow in the sky and touch the ocean

the colors slowly fade into midnight blue

the sun descends and the night comes through

the stars begin to twinkle bright

a crescent moon brings magic to the night

silhouettes of seagulls wing across the midnight sky

in the distance whales soar and dive as the seagulls cry

we listen to the soothing sound of waves flowing in

we feel a soothing coolness as the night winds begin

a caressing calm sweeps deep into our unbound souls

close before a fire's blaze as the magic shrouding lulls

we are surrounded by the beauty of the beach at night

by the beauty of nature unspoiled and shining so bright

visions of beauty haunt our spirits and magic ignites

waves of tranquility caress, the sweeping sands of forever alight

A beautiful photo and words. The description took me to a good place. I was lucky. I was station in Monterey for three years. I would roam the coastline every chance I had. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

Wow, your words spin a very enchanting spell of magic. I can see this place in my mind as I read your words. A lovely romantic setting for your poem. A beautiful nature scene. Very creative and so well written, it rhymes perfectly all the way though.

I enjoy Eric`s poems, what he does well is to employ rhymes with care, none are forced, none are lazy, he works at his subject witn conviction and skill, this poem has a lot of atmosphere, reminds me of a 19th century ballad, good work,

This feels like a painting come to life... each brush stroke a color of wonder in the setting sun's last glimmers... A magical expression of sacred night's awakening...

You have painted another beautiful picture with your words of the sun going down to touch the ocean & bringing forth the night sky & breaking waves with the ocean breeze. Brings back memories. Thanks, Eric.

Vision of Beauty is the perfect name for this wonderful piece. I like the descriptions you give of the setting sun, and the twinkling stars. And the turn of phraze you use is just amazing.

I loved this piece.
