Tears of America

She sheds tears of the soul...

for her wither grazed America of today

for liberties lost in corrupt visions of grey

for prying eyes slowly clawing into our lives

speak your mind and risk the sear of PC knives

She sheds tears of the soul...

for her Constitution gnawed slice by slice to crack

for the tears of new era soldiers fallen in black

for the health of her people clawed and tainted by greed

for the will of her patriots yearning to be freed

She beams rays of the soul...

for each shard of corruption swept to light

and overturned to eclipse the dark bite

for those who defend the true heart of her soul

for those no longer blind, awakening full

Let the war on our faith crawl back into its hole

seek out the Grand Juries to cut through each wrong's toll

wither bloating of government and piggy tail waste

get GMOs labeled on foods and get it done in haste

we must rise from the depths of liberty's looming tomb

let chime the beauty of America ever in bloom

USA ain't done yet. I saw bad times in 1977 and the early sixties. USA is a mix breed of many people who get stronger in hard times. Wise old saying. "Hard times create strong people." I like the old saying. Don't count a old dog out. He may have a bite left. I have great concern. Poor leadership and fruitless wars had took apart a great nation. The fight isn't over yet. Just need to lock up the budget and fix our own country. Thank you for your outstanding poem on a important topic.
