Blood Wolves Born Of Snow

Blood Wolves Born Of Snow

A Poem by Eric Cox
"

Written for the contest: "The Fanged Ones".

"
Flesh to bleed, she and I prowl within the crypt of night
blood creatures longing for the magic of Northern Lights
a fortune at long last gathers and up north we escape
acres of Alaskan land and a cozy log home drape
Snowflakes twirl upon the breeze and shroud the forest wild
tracking prey as wolf at lightning pace, our blood fury riled
we sink our fangs and siphon bare the elk we sought blood bent
veins soothed we romp in the snow aglow with Auroras God sent
our hearts sing beneath the magic of enchanting colors alight
endless streams of stars shimmer and the Wolf Moon is shining frost white
She and I, hearts entwined through eternity, bound in magic aglow
our souls cry out a sweet song of fantasy, two blood wolves born of snow

Even though this is a horror poem with horrific images in it to do honor to its horror, I still found something enchanting in this. I think its the underlying romance
going on between the two main characters. Very dark yet enchanting too. I love this actually. I'm putting it in my library.

A amazing description in the poem. The powerful description create vision of beauty and strength. I have wolves on my Native American Ojibwa properly. 180 acres of land controlled by bear and the wolf. I watch them from a distance. Nothing as beautiful as nature and the beast. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
