Red Wing

Red Wing

A Poem by Eric Cox

Beautiful Red Wing
in the clouds she sings
high above human worries
and demands and hurries
on spread wings she soars
close to Heaven's door
playing and having fun
now in the Winter sun
soon to be shining in Spring
what joy it will bring
looking forward to tomorrow
not a touch of sorrow
beautiful Red Wing
will forever sing

A very creative and musical poem in a way describing the joys of happiness and positive thinking. The images of a beautiful bird flying over a winter landscapes to one of spring, passing by heaven's door shows to me the triumph of celebrating life and appreciating what one has. A truly amazing poem Eric.

I congratulate Eric for symbolizing a bird of UK like an angel.
I am impressed by the beauty of Red Wing and find a sense of bliss from her role as
contact between the earth and Heaven.
Very well written.

Great poem. Beautiful and full of hope. Wonderful imagery and I agree with Leslie, this does have the feel of a rock song. Great work on this poem Eric.
