Entwine

Entwine

A Poem by Erica Wilkinson

Lying as one,
Heartbeat to heartbeat.
Your life reverberates off mine
As we lie, entwined
My cheek, sticking to your viscid chest
And my hand holding yours
Like two roots meeting and holding each other tightly
Way below the surface of the earth.
